Christmas Eve 2010

Ok, so this is my second post and it's been over a month since my first post as a new blogger.  I seem to get overwhelmed in November and December trying to finish all I want to get done before Christmas. It didn't help this year that my son asked me to make the two grandkids Titans quilts for Christmas.  He gave me 6 weeks notice.  :-)  Throw in Mom's major surgery earlier in the month and what a crazy schedule I've had these past several weeks.  I feel like I've been living out of my car between the hospital, Mom's place and home.

The quilts were finished last night, Mom is in post surgical in-patient rehab and doing well and I've been trying to clean my two sewing rooms today after the crazy month I've had.  The sunroom where my long-arm is kept is neat and tidy and I've been in this room for over 2 hours and haven't gotten much accomplished.  That seems to happen when the computer is also on - which of course it is right now.  I've watched great long-arm quilting demos on "The Quilt Show" today and decided to renew my membership for another year.  Now I just have to set aside time on a regular basis to get the most of that membership.

I will post pictures of the Titan's quilts after Sunday so my DIL doesn't get a sneak peak at them before we celebrate Christmas with them Sunday afternoon.  You can view all my quilts at http://www.imageevent.com/quilter/myquilts.  I've used this site for several years and have no interest in moving the pictures somewhere else.

Over Thanksgiving my niece and her three kids were here for a visit from New York.  I was able to present her with a quilt in memory of her Mom who passed suddely in 2009.  "Circle of Life" was made with blocks my sister appliqued.  I pieced and quilted the quilt and Mom attached the back label.   Needless to say she was touched with the quilt.  It was such a pleasure presenting it to her.

I suppose I should really get this room picked up so I can work on some Block of the Month (BOM) blocks I need to get done.  Once the room is clean I'll feel free to mess it up again with something new.

Have a blessed Christmas.  I realize no one else is reading this right now but I can pretend, can't I?
