My goodness, just 6 months ago I was swearing I'll never go on facebook but I'm on FB and check it regularily to see what everyone is doing - really mostly to look at pictures friends and family post. For a lot longer I said why should I blog? Now I'm thinking - why shouldn't I blog about my quilting and life? So here it is my very first blog. I know I need a blog to connect to other blogs that I want to see so here I am. Actually the requirement (as far as I can tell) to have a blog to access other blogs is what drove me here. I'm not computer illeterate and in fact manage training for our highly technical staff of 700+ so I better know something about computers. When I'm not at work, I'm usually quilting or doing something related to quilting.
My other passion is helping out the local animal shelter. http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/TN48.html We've volunteered for the last 4 years - nearly every Saturday. My shelter visits have slowed up for the sake of quilting but I still help out by making 2 - 3 quilts per year for them to raffle off. Afterall, how many quilts do we need at the house and how many does my family need? I can still spend my time doing what I love to do and share that gift with my choice of charitable organizations.
I'm also involved with Project Linus in Huntsville, AL. I get involved with different projects where I can make and share quilts.
Speaking of sharing quilts - to get started with what I've done you can view my quilts online if you'd like.
I lean more and more toward contemporary but haven't made many of them YET. I feel like I need to finish up some of the MANY projects I have started before I start on the contemporary quilts that grab at me when I see them.
I guess this is it for my very first blog. Let's see where it goes from here.
